John Gauthier, of Waterbury, photographed this moose on Sunday in the Little River State Park. Moose are very active this time of year now that the snow has melted, so keep your eye out for their sign. Check out Gauthier's blog here.

Spring growth

Leafy green bok choi grows in a warm greenhouse at Pete's Greens in Craftsbury. Though the greenhouse gives produce like this a jump on the normal growing season, soon the ground will be warm enough for a bounty of produce.

Sugary snow

Mike Waring pours warm maple syrup into a snow trough at the bottom of the Sugar Slalom yesterday at Stowe. The annual race had more than 600 participants this year and the weather combined for an epic spring day on the mountain.

Owl sighting

"I took these two pictures on the front lawn of our apartment on Worcester Loop Rd. in Stowe last night (April 1st) between 7:00 and 7:30 p.m. Right after I took the pictures I managed to get video of the owl swooping in and grabbing something off the lawn and flying away. The owl did come back, he seemed to be hopping around the lawn looking for something. I was about four or five feet away when I took the video and one of the pictures. The owl did not appear to be threatened by me at all." - Daniel Emerson
