Ross wins at nationals

Lauren Ross, of Stowe, stands atop the podium at U.S. Alpine National Championships in Sugarloaf, Maine on Wednesday afternoon.
Ross came from fifth place after the first run to win her first championship title at age 26.
She grew up skiing in her backyard atop West Hill and raced for the Mount Mansfield Ski and Snowboard Club before making the U.S. Ski Team. Ross scored her first World cup points in 2005 and missed all of last season due to a torn knee ligament. The championship win, she said, was the perfect way to end the racing season.
Also pictured are Laurenne Ross (no relation) who placed second and Libby Ludlow in third.
