The latest reported bear sighting in Stowe occurred on Tuesday morning around 9 a.m., when a mama black bear and her cub took a stroll around the home of Jim and Becky Tunick on Owls Head Lane, just off Covered Bridge Road. The couple had put a bird feeder about a half-hour earlier, but they quickly took it down when the bears arrived. The bears sniffed around for a bit and then returned to the woods, the Tunicks said.
